Part of Independent Venue Week
The Orielles formed in their teens in Halifax. Sisters Esmé and Sidonie Hand-Halford met Henry Carlyle Wade at a house party, bonding over a love of 1990s alternative rock, disco, and early indie dance music. Their first gigs were played in small Yorkshire venues, quickly earning them a following in the UK’s DIY scene for their youthful energy and catchy, groove-heavy style.
They initially released several singles through independent labels, including “Yawn” and “Sugar Tastes Like Salt”, which showcased their knack for blending jangly guitar pop with danceable rhythms.
In 2018, The Orielles released their debut album Silver Dollar Moment via Heavenly Recordings.
Now they’re back on the road with their fourth studio album Only You Left.
