Norwich Jazz Festival presents Marysia Osu

Please note that this is a ‘Norwich Arts Centre presents’ event at Anteros 7-15 Fye Bridge Street, Norwich, NR3 1LJ

Marysia Osu is a Polish-born, London-based harpist, producer, and composer known for her innovative blend of classical, ambient, and jazz music. Her debut album, harp, beats & dreams, explores themes of philosophy, dreams, and the interplay between the conscious and unconscious mind. The album is an intimate journey into her inner world, composed as a series of diary-like entries that served her as a means of self-soothing and reflection. Fully self-produced, it documents her evolution as a solo composer and producer.

Marysia graduated with a degree in classical music, specialising in performance on the harp. She began experimenting with new sonic textures during her studies, using effects pedals lent to her by friends from the jazz course. As a harpist making her mark on the London jazz scene, she is a member of Levitation Orchestra and has contributed the distinctive sound of her harp to numerous records, working with artists including Maxwell Owin & Joe Armon-Jones, Puma Blue, Alabaster dePlume, Laura Misch, Yazmin Lacey, and Loyle Carner.

Her solo compositions are a blend of classical, jazz and ambient music, which reflects on her debut album “harp, beats & dreams”. The album documents her journey into music production. Osu’s body of work is entirely homemade, and an intimate dive into her inner world, composed almost as a collection of diary entries and reflections. Her composition process became a way to self-soothe and process.
