NAC supported shows get rave reviews at Edinburgh Festival

Congratulations to NAC supported artists The Neutrinos (KlangHaus), Luke Wright and Lucy McCormick on their successful Edinburgh shows this year!

The Neutrinos (KangHaus) – Inhaus and Darkroom

The Neutrinos presented two very different shows in the same lounge-like space: Inhaus sat the audience in the middle of a pop gig, while Darkroom’s quiet soundtrack drew listeners to earthbound contemplation.

We cannot thank the Norwich Arts Centre and our Norwich community enough for all their support. We have just had the time of our lives performing over 200 shows to over 2,000 people. For us it’s normal to perform up-close and muck about visually and musically with the conventions of gig-going, but for our Edinburgh audiences, they were blown away, thanks for encouraging us to go back onto the world stage, for your validation and belief in what we do. Our favourite quote from the Fringe, ‘KlangHaus’s artistic approach is one of radical generosity.’ The Scotsman” Karen (KlangHaus)

Luke Wright – Silver Jubilee

Over twenty-five years, Luke Wright has built up a reputation for being one of Britain’s most popular live poets. He has won an unprecedented four Saboteur Awards (national awards for spoken word), a Stage Award, and a Fringe First.  Silver Jubilee was a blend of poetry and autobiographical storytelling and debuted to a packed arena at Latitude Festival before a sell out run at the Edinburgh Fringe where it was the toast of the critics.

Norwich Arts Centre made this show possible. They gave me a bit of money at the very start of the project which gave me the time and space to begin developing the show. I think one of the reasons this show has been so successful was that I was able to develop it slowly and with no pressure as to what it should be. That wouldn’t have been possible without NAC. They trusted me as an artist to play and experiment.” Luke Wright

“This is the best thing that poet Luke Wright has done, which is saying something.”  The Telegraph

“A winning combination of honesty, humour, ire and wonder. He is at the peak of his powers. Here’s to the next 25 years.”  The Stage

“Breathtaking … with a sharpness and wisdom that lifts the soul, and soothes the battered heart.” The Scotsman
