150 coats donated! Thank you

We teamed up with Norwich City of Sanctuary to help them appeal for 100 MEN’s warm coats this Winter for people seeking sanctuary.

Last Saturday our railings were full! We are so thankful for the support we had from the Norwich community and pleased to say we had around 150 coats donated!

We were bowled over by the generosity shown on Saturday by the people of Norwich who donated warm winter coats for our appeal. The response was phenomenal! We are very grateful and have already distributed them to over 150 people who need them in the sub-zero temperatures we’ve had this winter. Emmanuel Church in Bungay also donated 80 hand-knitted woolly hats which were a welcome addition.  Thank you to all involved, especially Norwich Arts Centre for their continued support.” Claire Wood, Norwich City of Sanctuary.

Norwich City of Sanctuary is part of a national movement building a culture of welcome for refugees and asylum-seekers, many of whom have lost their homes, fled persecution, and now seek safety here.

Norwich has a long history of being a place of sanctuary to those seeking safety. We want to celebrate the contribution refugees make and to continue to extend a hand of welcome to those arriving today.

Thank you!
