Catharsis and Protest
A series of three session delivered with a focus on how and why women depict mental health within language and image. Using these sessions to explore a number of modalities including literature, art, film and video games, Alix Dixon hopes to create a space in which we can approach these works with compassion and curiosity.

Dr Alix Dixon is a clinical psychologist living and working in Norfolk. She has a strong interest in how narrative and creative exploration can help us organise and express our own experiences as well as bring communities together to develop mutual support and activism.

Session 1 – Limits of my language – exploring mental health through the lens of language and the written word
Session 2 – In the right eyes – exploring images of mental health
Session 3 – Despite everything, it’s still you – using the medium of video games to express themes of mental health
