Music, art and chaos in the wild West-Berlin of the 1980s. The walled-in city became the creative melting pot for sub- and pop-culture. Before the iron curtain fell, everything and anything seemed possible. B-MOVIE is a fast-paced collage of mostly unreleased film and TV footage from a frenzied but creative decade, starting with punk and ending with the Love Parade, in a city where the days are short and the nights are endless. Where it was not about long-term success, but about living for the moment – the here and now.

Electronic pioneer, writer and visual artist John Foxx will be in conversation with Adam Buxton discussing Electricity And Ghosts – a new book collecting Foxx’s artworks – his recent collection of The Quiet Man short stories, the 45th anniversary of his first solo album Metamatic and his career from Ultravox through to his more recent albums with Harold Budd and as John Foxx And The Maths with Benge, Robin Simon and Hannah Peel. The latest instalment of The Maths is due later in 2025.
Electricity And Ghosts (available with The Quiet Man from johnfoxxbook.com) includes drawing, photography, painting, graphic art, sculpture and collage, with the artist’s visual language ranging from the introspective figure of The Quiet Man and the overgrown ruins of Cathedral Oceans to ‘70s cyber-punk experiments with cut-up imagery. There are also many previously unseen drawings.
‘For me, drawing is a means of understanding,’ explains Foxx. ‘It has been the foundation of almost everything I’ve done – including music.’
