This Summer, we’re raising £6,000 to install air conditioning in our foyer and box office, making Norwich Arts Centre a more comfortable place for everyone during the warmer months.

Norwich Arts Centre is one of the UK’s leading independent arts venues. Housed in a beautiful Grade I listed medieval church, we present more than 300 performances and events each year, champion emerging artists, engage local communities and welcome thousands of visitors. As a registered charity, we’re committed to making outstanding arts and culture accessible to everyone.

Six years ago, thanks to our Arts Council England regeneration project, we made significant improvements to the building’s sustainability and accessibility. However, our budget didn’t stretch to installing air conditioning.

As summers become hotter, we want to ensure Norwich Arts Centre remains a welcoming and comfortable space for audiences, performers, volunteers and staff, especially older people, disabled visitors and those with underlying health conditions.

This is just the first step. Our longer-term ambition is to reduce our environmental impact by installing solar panels and extending air conditioning into our auditorium.

We’ve already reached £2500 with our football screening fundraisers. With over 40,000 visitors each year, we only need 700 of you to donate £5 to reach our target!
