Pleasure Incorporated

Sun 31 May 2026
A person stands centered on a dimly lit stage, illuminated by a circular spotlight. They are wearing a light purple suit with a name tag on the chest and are positioned in front of a plain desk and chair. The background features a large projected close-up image of a person's lips in soft blue tones, filling the wall behind them. The overall lighting is cool and theatrical, creating a minimalist performance setting.

What if sex work was treated like any other office job?
Pleasure Incorporated is a lyrical, funny, and surreal one-woman play set inside the cubicles and corridors of an imagined corporation. Through the language of HR policies, performance reviews and workplace rituals, the show explores familiar concepts of labour, autonomy and survival in a hostile world.

Written and performed by accomplished writer, performer and theatre-maker Jemima Foxtrot, Pleasure Incorporated draws on Jemima’s lived experience of escorting in Berlin and uses corporate satire to examine how bodies, labour and power are managed, regulated and sold.
Blending live performance with video art and an original soundtrack , Pleasure Incorporated shifts between humour and tenderness, inviting audiences to question what we accept as “normal” work. It asks what autonomy really looks like when choice is shaped by capitalism, gender and survival. Pleasure Incorporated was first developed in Berlin in 2023/24.

Despite its big themes, this is not a relentlessly heavy show. Audiences often describe it as unexpectedly funny, disarming and human. The office setting creates distance, space for reflection, and sharp moments of recognition.
Jemima Foxtrot has toured her work internationally and written for organisations including the BBC, Tate Modern and Britain and Channel 4. Her practice spans theatre, poetry and live performance, with a focus on labour, autonomy, sexuality, and the body.
