“They f*ck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had and add some extra, just for you.” – Philip Larkin
The Time Is Come is a ceremonial letting go that explores leaving and being left behind in a celebration of transition – an existential rendezvous. As a family prepares for departure they are held, supported, restrained and crushed in a combination of collective shape shifting that moves from caring through control into suffocation.
This is for those who have left someone.
And for those who have been left behind.
This is for those who need to go.
And for those who left a long time ago.
This is universal.
For every family, tribe or gang there is transition, change and departure.
Together we will celebrate this letting go.
