2pm – 4pm workshop
An opportunity to work with Neil Paris – dancer, choreographer and long- time colleague of Margaret Pikes ,the respected voice teacher of Roy Hart Theatre fame. Whether you are a singer looking to increase your sense of connection to your body or a choir director wanting to explore movement work with your singers – this workshop will offer the chance to do just that.
Neil is a dancetheatre artist who works as a choreographer, director, performer and teacher. He is artistic director of SMTH dancetheatre and was a core member of Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre whose work received three Olivier nominations and toured internationally. Over the past 10 years he has been working with Margaret Pikes, founder member of Roy Hart Theatre, exploring his voice and it’s connection to the body and movement. Together they lead Voice | Body | Improvisation workshops and intensives in the UK, France and Germany.
Neil uses dance, theatre and yoga practices to explore imaginative ways of making connections and pathways through the body to the voice. He combines playful exercises designed to free the body and spark the imagination with disciplined quiet practices that connect us with our breathing and our own unique interior worlds.
