Norm’s presents Magnolia 

MAGNOLIA
This is the release celebration for Magnolia’s debut EP, which they have been working on solidly since August 2024 at The Crunch, with moi. I predict it becoming a classic in record time.

Formed in 2022 whilst still at college, they are a supercharged fusion of both new and old. Think Black Midi, Swans and Opus Kink, then add a pinch of early Hawkwind and a dab of King Crimson, and you get the exquisite woven tapestry of avant-garde rock that is MAGNOLIA.

Their reputation as captivating live performers is already well set. On stage MAGNOLIA evoke a sonic battleground with jabbing, staccato sax leading the assault on the senses. They are wild and gritty yet joyful and uplifting…bursting with method, spirit and feeling.

BEAST WITH A GUN are simply the bestest garage punk rock n roll trio in the whole animal kingdom, with the even besterest most entertainingest frontman mountain. I first booked them about 18-19 years ago, and they’ve stuck to their winning formula of high energy garage punk with catchy choruses ever since. They always make me happy, and with this being my birthday gig (Shhhh, don’t tell anyone..), that’s important.

MANHOLE
Alt-rock newcomers Manhole are opening. They call themselves ‘melancholic and melodic art rock’, and I think of them like a cross between early Lush & Souxsie & The Banshees, with a jazz drummer. I’m sure there are new bands to compare them too, but I wouldn’t know about that sort of thing..

Mr Jason will be playing genuinely amazing records in the bar, before, between and after the bands. The best time to dance is while waiting in the queue at the bar. It’s a fact.
