Green Shoots presents The Mend of the World: An Evening with Tom Heap
Tom Heap, known for presenting BBC’s Countryfile, Radio 4’s Rare Earth, and Sky News’ The Climate Show, has dedicated his career to examining the environmental issues facing our world.
On TV, Radio, podcasts and books, Tom Heap has revealed individuals and innovations showing the ways to arrest climate change and rebuild Nature. But what has happened to our collective will to do them? When it comes to our environment, most headlines are about denial and reversal. Concern for our natural world feels vulnerable to a populist storm. It’s time to emerge from the hurricane shelter, rebuild and retool. The fightback starts tonight.
Tom will bust media peddled myths about the cost of green energy, the unpopularity of climate action, the role of China and the unshakeable dominance of fossil fuels. But he’ll also aim a couple of swipes at dogmatic environmentalists.
And stand by for surprises: Tom has something akin to an oil well and refinery in his back garden, wood is stronger than steel and greet the dawn of the new industrial sunbelt.
The mood may be bleak, but the facts are bright. More sunlight, less gaslight. Let’s go!
