“a sort of manic, jolly, literary talent competition mixed with a bit of a game of chance.” the Guardian

Ever been to a Literary Death Match? Brainchild of Todd Zuniga, this international event is ‘a kind of X-factor for books’– an exhilarating mix of talent and irreverent sparring that makes for a great night out.

So Writers’ Centre Norwich is delighted to offer you the opportunity to experience the Literary Death Match at Norwich Arts Centre this March at a rollicking bash as part of LDM’s six-year celebrations.

Fighting it out will be: performance poet Francesca Beard; playwright/performer Siddhartha Bose (author of Kalagora);  Martin Figura (Whistle, Boring the Arse Off Young People); Siddharta Bose and Aisle16 poetry collective’s Ross Sutherland (Things To Do Before You Leave Town, Hyakuretsu Kyaku).

The judges commentary is all part of the fun and we have a stellar trio of arbiters: Hay Festivals director Peter Florence on literary merit; poet/performer Tim Clare on performance (co-creator of the oh f**k! moment), and the hilarious stand-up Amy Nicholson on intangibles.

Hosted by LDM creator Todd Zuniga & LDM London executive producer Suzanne Azzopardi you’ll want to witness this fight for the highly sought after Literary Death Match Crown, where though we have no idea what might happen, we’re very sure it’ll be entertaining.  (Don’t just take our word for it; read all the great feedback of past events here).
