How to apply for an exhibition

gallery-space

Norwich Arts Centre curates its programme of exhibitions, and we are always looking for regional artists working in photography, video and contemporary 2D media to submit work for consideration. Our gallery space is part of a lively multi-arts venue, and consists of a large foyer with dedicated gallery walls. Visitors have access to the exhibition Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm, and in addition, the evening events bring in approximately 1000 visitors each week. We do not charge a hire fee, and we support the exhibitions with technical installation, a private view, and publicity, but unfortunately we cannot provide an artists fee.

All 2D work will need to be displayed behind glass, and for insurance purposes we cannot accept paintings, fragile 2D work, or any 3D work. Plasma screens and projectors are available for exhibitions. All submissions will be considered for both solo and group shows: due to the popularity of the venue, artists must be prepared to be included in a group show at the discretion of NAC.

To apply, please send a CV, a short statement about your practice, 6 low resolution JPEGs, and an indication of the amount of work you would ideally exhibit (including approximate dimensions) to Holly Rumble at holly@norwichartscentre.co.uk.

The deadline is ongoing, and due to the programming process decisions may not be made immediately. We will keep your submission on file for future reference. Please note, we are fully booked for the first half of 2012.

We can also offer support to Norfolk-based performing and visual artists who are considering applying for an Arts Council England grant. Please contact us if you have a project you would like to discuss.
