Self proclaimed “Post Sadcore Fun Pop” band Hello Bear have been bringing their own brand of energetic quirky indie pop rock to the stage since 2010. Currently finishing off their follow up album (Watch Out!!! Its That one guy!) to last years highly successful debut album “This One Girl”, Hello Bear return to their home town of Norwich and the Arts Centre (which last year saw the band selling out for their debut album launch) to play old and new songs for people to dance their legs off!
After almost a year in exile and a change in line-up, East Anglia’s much loved alt-rockers Deers return this summer. Trimmed down to a 4 piece, the line up sees the return of the three way harmonies from Nicky Rafis, Bradley Smith and Ben Everington (with the introduction of drummer Carl Ellis).
Friends ‘til the Bitter End (May 2013) is the final piece of the Deers puzzle, having previously recorded 3 EP’s over 9 months in 2011. The new line up brings back the raw element to the recording (recorded live at The Engine Room, London with Mark Bishop), featuring re-workings of the live favourites ‘Plans’ and Fractions’ as well as brand new track ‘By Your Bedside’. Expect more live shows throughout 2013 before the band record their debut album in 2014.
Cineclub are a Norwich based alt pop band. Their warped garage sound emerges from a concoction of Strokes style guitars mixed together with Motown and Disco influenced bass lines and topped off with Britpop-esque vocal hooks. Songs are short, sharp and dispatched at regular 3 minute intervals.
Cineclub employ a DIY ethos when it comes to making records, preferring to record everything themselves. This approach has led to their last 2 singles, ‘Gold Off A Lion’ and ‘ Be The Deep’ receiving radio airplay in places as far flung as Thailand and Brazil.
