A photographic exhibition charting the development of Darwinian thinking since 1859 featuring photographs of book covers used to illustrate all of the significant texts. A celebration of the work of artists and illustrators work in illuminating books and an analysis of the use of art in backing up the major theoretical movements in evolutionary thinking. This exhibition is timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of the Origin of Species in 1859.
